ALTZ was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. Since the age of 18, he has been playing stringed instruments such as guitar, base, and mandolin. Impressed by classic rock artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Feat, Rolling Stones, Funkadelic, Muddy Waters, Edger Winter, Yellow Magic Orchestra at an early age, he began playing in various R&B, Funk, 80's pop and Hard Rock based outfits. A trip to India gave ALTZ a new interest in the culture of Trance Music, and since that time electric elements like Techno and Break Beats have been seamlessly incorporated into his music.

Since 2000, after picking up and mastering the MPC2000, ALTZ began recording on his own and composing and editing dance music in earnest. He has since made an international impact within all genres of dance music, from deep house to nu-disco. Current releases include the album” LaLaLa” on Japan’s Zi-Koo Records as well as the follow up album “Yell” on Steve Kotey’s (Chicken Lips) internationally known label Bear Funk out of the UK. ALTZ has quickly become a highly respected recording artist, DJ and remixer and to those who know him an absolutely abnormal genius.
