Part man, part machine, part cockatiel, Cage & Aviary take flights of fancy whenever they can. Jamie Paton is a DJ, a one-finger keyboardist, and a pot-tickler. Nigel of Bermondsey is a musician, South London's finest oscillator, and a dedicated dabbler. Together they are self-described "winners of the cosmic lottery".

Having put out releases to underground acclaim on the limited editions UK dance label Dissident Distribution, they are now set to spread their wings with new ventures forthcoming on Paris-based Astro Lab Recordings, London's Tiny Sticks, and now DFA via the Death From Abroad imprint.

Recently, Cage & Aviary have taken it upon themselves to remix six cherry-picked artists and release each as part of a series on their own label, The Walls Have Ears. Taking inspiration from early 12" extended mixes, each record will feature a vocal mix and a dub on the flip-side - the first of which is their take on the UK band Bow Mods single "Country Girls". Jamie heard them play the original live on 6Music and was so impressed he hunted them down, and from here the concept took shape. The Bow Mods love the remix so much that it appears in a cameo role at the end of the video to their new single 'Seventeen Weeks'.
