Canyons debut single with the DFA. The enormous "Fire Eyes" has a diva growling the title like Shirley Bassey escaping from the island of Dr. Moreau. An acid line seethes like a python while hand percussion, rattles, and weird jungle sounds swerve about in the mix. Deep down an unidentified bass growl arises.

On the flip, Holiday and Sea-mist drop "Dancing on Silk." Surely, it needs no further metaphor than that, but here goes: a flanged snare twines around another female vocal, this one sexy and pouty in equal measure, while horns slush around, all elements soon warping before your ears.

Runaway's Jacques Renault throws down a sticky remix of "Fire Eyes," accentuating the keyboard stabs and dubbing out the vocals to make it more house-friendly.
